John Kohlhase
John Kohlhase – has more than 20 years of experience in advertising. As a partner at W.A. Fisher Advertising & Printing, John brings his experience in creative direction, copywriting and design in all media, account management, strategic planning and agency management to the company’s advertising division.
From 1985-1989, John served as Art Director at H. T. Klatzky & Associates, a Duluth advertising agency where he worked with accounts in diverse industries including travel/tourism, Indian casino/gaming, economic development, medical, financial, utilities, and retail.
John joined JPG Communications, Inc., in 1989 as Creative Director and was later promoted to Vice President of Creative Services. During his tenure at JPG, a Virginia, Minnesota advertising firm, John developed marketing and creative strategies for gaming casinos, travel/tourism accounts and electric cooperatives. John worked closely with numerous clients on projects such as annual reports, print, radio and television advertising, newsletters and collateral materials.
Since joining W.A. Fisher Advertising & Printing in 1999, John has expanded the company’s products and services to include website design, programming and marketing, interactive presentations and CDs, and radio and television production. John oversees the creative department and is responsible for recruiting and managing creative department staff. John works directly with a number of accounts in economic development, financial services, travel/tourism, health care and government.
John serves on the Graphic Communications Curriculum Committee at Mesabi Range Community Technical College - Eveleth Campus. He is also on the advisory board of Hibbing Community College’s Multimedia Department. John graduated in 1983 from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in advertising design. He lives in Mountain Iron, Minnesota with his wife, Lynn, and their four children, Katy, Jacob, Sarah and Joshua.
